My Approach in Psychotherapy
At the heart of healing in psychotherapy is the client/therapist relationship. Drawing on my core training in the humanistic, person centred bio-dynamic and gestalt approaches I create a unique connection for working with each person weaving creatively training in loss and bereavement as well as psychodynamic perspectives. Art, creative writing and other creative methods such as dreamwork and symbolic interaction can be extraordinarily therapeutic and I use these approaches when it seems appropriate for the client and they are open to it.
In working biodynamically I am a trauma informed therapist and support many people to understand how their traumatic experiences impact them. This involves becoming aware of when they are triggered and learning to regulate their nervous systems.
At the centre of my work is the emphasis to create a nurturing and thriving client/therapist relationship. I offer a safe space for the client to explore their experiences and encourage them to become the author of their own life.
